I work where people, business, and technology meet.
I’ve been responsible for the technology, the business using it, and the people expected to make it work. That combination shapes how I approach a problem.
A tool can work exactly as designed and still fail the business. A capable team can struggle inside a process that makes good work difficult. Before building anything, I look at how those pieces affect one another.
I served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1993 to 1998, including embassy security assignments in Bonn and Shanghai.
In 1999, I founded a computer-services business. I also spent more than a decade as president of a technology firm, working with the practical demands of keeping businesses connected, supported, and operating.
My work expanded into consulting for multi-location service businesses: improving performance, making information useful, and building more consistent ways to manage the work.
Alongside consulting, I’ve spent more than a decade teaching performance and influence. Through my training work, I’ve helped certify hundreds of practitioners worldwide.
I founded The Corgi Kid Co in 2010 and continue to teach. I’m also a contributing author to Unstuck: The Owner’s Manual for Success, published in English and Spanish.
Teaching keeps the human side of systems work in view. People need more than instructions. They need practice, useful feedback, and an environment that supports what they’re learning.
Today, I use specialized AI systems across my own businesses and product brands. I work with these tools directly, including their limitations.
I look for work they can handle reliably, decide what needs review, and keep responsibility clear. The aim isn’t to remove people from the business. It’s to reduce avoidable work and give their attention somewhere better to go.
One of my strongest intellectual influences is Shao Yong, the Song dynasty thinker known for his study of patterns and change. That interest is part of a broader curiosity about how people interpret the world—and how those interpretations shape what they do.
I bring that curiosity to the work, alongside a practical question: what would make this business easier to run well?
